***SCAM ALERT*** I am writing this post to advise you all of a company I recently had a horrible encounter with in the hopes that it will get shared among as many people as possible, It's a bit of a lengthy read, but if you read it and do decide to share, please do so publicly so it can continue to cover as much social media ground as possible. On the eve of April 14th, I was on-line looking for a florist that would deliver flowers same day. The only one I could find was a site called http://www.bloomsnroses.com/ They advertise "24 hour send out flowers", and also provide a drop-down box so you could select the date of your delivery. Even though it was after 7pm, it allowed me to select the eve of April 14th for delivery. But just to be sure, I called the company at one of their two local number and I spoke with a man who advised me that yes, I could have my order placed for delivery that evening, that they even offer free shipping, all I had to do was place the order on-line. I was delighted, so I promptly placed my order. It was for a yellow mug that had yellow roses and white & yellow daisies in the picture. The price was $39.72, but when the total came up it was $56.16, with HST and surcharges that I had no idea what they were for (So much for "free delivery"!). But regardless, I placed the order and received a confirmation through email that my order had been placed and I was provided with a confirmation number. It didn't however, indicate the time the flowers would be delivered. So I immediately called the same number back and spoke with the same man (although he said he didn't recall our conversation from two minutes earlier, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt it was a different guy). He said he wasn't the one who processed the orders, so I asked him if he could give me the name./number of the person who did process the evening orders and he said I'd have to call back in the morning, that he was just the "after hours". I said, "Well I wouldn't have placed the order with you if I'd known it wouldn't be going out until tomorrow", he said, "There's nothing I can do to help you, added a few more choice words and hung up on me. When I called back, I was immediately disconnected. So I tried to call them at their other "local number", and I got the same man who again hung up on me. Same with their toll-free number, I was again hung up on by the same person. And oddly enough, their so-called "head office", which according to their website is 159 King St W in toronto, was also forwarded to the same man, and I was again disconnected. The only other form of contact I had with this company was a sketchy-sounding email address, in which they promise to "promptly respond to from date of email". I had at this point, assumed I had been dealing with an after-hours answering service, so I relayed the entire incident, again requesting that my order please be cancelled. On their website, their office hours indicate 10am-4pm, so I called at 9:30am and spoke with a girl named Ashley. I relayed the whole story to her, and while she did listen patiently, she explained to me there was nothing she could do, that the order had already gone out. When I explained to her that I would not have placed the order, had I not understood it would've been delivered the prior evening. I asked her if she could call the driver. She placed me on hold and within a few seconds I was disconnected. I assumed this was an error, so I called back, and this time I got a man, the SAME man I'd spoken with the night before, and once again I was promptly disconnected. I continued to call all four contact numbers listed on their website and I was promptly hung on each time, at minimum eight times. Since I had no recourse at this point, I contacted the BBB (Better Business Bureau). I discovered they have a rating of F and have had 79 complaints lodged against them, each that sounded very similar to mine. Here is a link to the BBB page: http://www.bbb.org/…/blooms-and-roses-flowers-and-gifts-in-…# I also discovered that this company operates under the following names: 1. Toronto Bridal Outlet 2. Flower Power Corp 3. 24hrflowerpower.com 4. Queen Elizabeth Flowers, 5. Classic Collection 6. afloristintoronto.com, 7. Gifts Flowers Bridal 8. A Real Florist In Toronto 9. Mississauga Florist 10. Canadian Invitations Outlet, 11. E & a Gift Baskets 12. Canada Invitations Outlet There are also four different "head office" addresses -- 159 King St W, Toronto; 459 King St W Toronto; 2601 Matheson Blvd, Mississauga, and S. Service Rd, Mississauga, but (at least from what I've found), all of their local, toll-free and head office numbers are exactly the same. After placing my complaint with the BBB, I then decided to dispute the charge through Mastercard, because (a) not only was my order left with my friend's neighbour (which I had not authorized them to do), (b) they delivered it at 3:45pm (6 hours after I'd called and been told it was too late, that the order had already gone out); (c) the order looked NOTHING like what I'd actually ordered and was sent in a bowl, not a mug, even though the text on the site had said "mug", (d) the delivery had no return address, so the recipient couldn't physically return it to a store, only the 416 number which I'd attempted to call but was one again hung up on, but most importantly (e), I was charged an additional amount on my credit card from what I'd initially agreed to pay. There was NO explanation for the additional charges, neither on my bill or from the agent I spoke with from Mastercard. I'm happy to report that I got my full refund returned, but other people were not so lucky and have stories far worse than mine. Just check out this Yelp site to see how many negative reviews this company has: https://www.yelp.ca/biz/blooms-n-roses-toronto Needless to say, I am immediately destroying my credit card and getting a new one, but I even find it upsetting that this company knows my name and billing information. Even though I got my money back, it has been nothing but a 5 day long headache. PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AND SHARE WITH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. Thanks for your time. #bloomsnroses #scamalert
